Interview : behind Qwenty’s “Elevation EP”

For Wareus Records, the Parisian producer Qwenty came back on his last EP “Elevation”.

What is your creative process ? What inspires you when you are creating ?

I like to go for a particular atmosphere that can be felt throughout the whole track. For that I carefully select sounds so that they fit the vibe I’m trying to go for. For “Elevation”, I tried to create something a bit mystical that embellished the work of Erik Satie

What is the genesis behind “Elevation” ? What did you want to express ?

I wanted to encapsulate a timeless piece of music and give it a modern touch. I turned to classical music because it elevates the soul when you listen to it : this is why I chose to name this track “Elevation” !

How to you see the future of your project ?

I want to keep doing what I love the most, music production and more particularly focus on creating catchy infectious grooves for the dance floor. I recently created a collective called Extended Groove Records and I’m looking forward to play at different Parisian venues for people to discover my sound.
